A weekend getaway for two at Domaine de Bournel, a magnificent setting. The prestige suite was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant on the estate offered excellent, generous portions. The staff were dedicated, competent, and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Third trip to Bournel, and still just as much pleasure in this magnificent place. Special mention for the warm welcome from Léna, who was super friendly. The restaurant would benefit from a slightly more extensive menu.

We came as a family to Domaine de Bournel and were captivated by the beauty of the grounds and the surrounding nature. We highly recommend a stay here to escape the everyday stresses of daily life. The welcome was very warm and kind to the children. Dinner on the terrace at the restaurant in the castle courtyard had a delightful taste of la dolce vita (Italian menu on Fridays) and the food was excellent. Thank you to the whole team, and I hope to return for a yoga retreat with Ilaria or another program in this wonderful setting! See you soon!

We stayed two nights at Château de Bournel, in an annex. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. However, we felt it was the beginning of the season: the restaurant bill wasn't included at checkout (I mentioned this in the interest of honesty). The grounds are truly magnificent. It's a shame, however, not to be able to explore the château more fully, which we understand since the owners live there.

Four months after our wedding, I'm finally taking the time to leave this review, as the disappointment is still very much present. We chose this venue, located an hour and twenty minutes from our home, and booked the entire estate and hotel. The manager suggested vendors she usually works with. We selected the photographer (whom I highly recommend), the pyrotechnician, and the pastry chef for our wedding cake. The communication and meetings beforehand went very well. I would also like to thank Ms. Stéphanie, the manager's assistant, for her professionalism and follow-up. Regarding the wedding cake, a very important point for me, I was extremely clear on several occasions (by email and during the final meeting). I sent a specific photo: a simple and elegant tiered cake with a strawberry filling and gold plastic initials. I was assured that this would be perfectly acceptable. On the wedding day, the venue was magnificent. Pamela, the on-site organizer, did a beautiful job with the decorations and handled the unexpected issues professionally. However, several things significantly marred our evening. During the fireworks display, we waited a long time without any explanation. Our guests were starting to wonder what was going on. The equipment, the van, and the technicians were visible just a few meters away, which absolutely shouldn't have been the case. The fireworks were beautiful, but the element of surprise was largely ruined. At that price, everything should have been perfectly executed. I tried to put things in perspective, thinking about the wedding cake I had been so looking forward to… and then, immense disappointment. The cake was nothing like what had been requested, approved, and confirmed. I burst into tears, filled with anger and sadness. The guests took it as a positive reaction and applauded, while for us, this moment became an extremely painful memory, without any usable photos or videos. The next day, during the debriefing with Pamela, it was confirmed that the service was neither professional nor acceptable. It was therefore clear to us that we would not be paid for it. A final discussion with the manager resulted in three goodwill gestures, which we appreciated, even though they absolutely did not make up for the memory. She also indicated that she would take note of these issues for future weddings. Without meaning any offense, this doesn't help me at all. Our time together was irrevocably ruined. I should also mention that we asked for the pastry chef's name, which was refused. The venue preferred to take the blame for a negative review. Everyone can draw their own conclusions. The venue itself is still very beautiful, and our guests enjoyed it. Despite everything, we had a good time thanks to our wonderful vendors, who were incredibly supportive and comforting. However, be extremely careful when choosing your service providers. One piece of advice: don't trust blindly, as we did, and insist on checking everything beforehand. Attached is a photo of the approved design and one of the actual wedding cake delivered on the day. No further comment is necessary.
