Tip for those traveling with a dog: dogs are not allowed inside the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle grounds, but a very pleasant path allows you to walk around the castle. About ten minutes away, the ruins of Oedenbourg Castle ("Petit Koenigsbourg") are easily accessible and the site is very pleasant for dogs to wait in the shade and run around while the rest of the family visits the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle.

We had a wonderful time visiting this magnificent castle. It's a rare place where all the elements of the medieval castle were rebuilt stone by stone in the 19th century and have been remarkably preserved. The audio guides are a real asset to the visit. We would have loved to be able to bring our dog on the tour. However, we understand the logistics involved for the castle administration.

Magnificent restored castle. Excellent guided tour with headphones so you don't miss a thing. Affordable price for families. Note: parking is mostly on the road leading up to the castle, so be prepared for a bit of a walk.

You can walk to the foot of the castle without paying. Free parking. Access to the souvenir shop and snack bar. Magnificent view.

Beautiful castle to visit with amazing view on the mountains. For parking don't hesitate to drive up to the entrance as you will most likely find a spot, if not you can drive around the castle again, it's a loop. I recommend you purchase your tickets in advance on their official website. It took us about 1.5 hours total to visit and take pictures.
