A castle that you visit like a museum. A renovation that will leave you speechless! Arrive early or be prepared to walk. We arrived at 10 a.m. and were able to visit at our leisure, without the crowds.

Beautiful building. Very impressive. Wonderfully restored. There are guided tours, self-guided tours with an audio guide, or you can explore entirely on your own. There's also a restaurant and a café with a fantastic view.

For once, Wilhelm II did something positive, so we shouldn't hold back our appreciation. Rebuilding such a large, ruined castle in such a short time requires a level of determination rarely seen! Certainly, there was a strong symbolic value in this restoration, but we can all enjoy it today by visiting it. It's a very touristy place, admittedly, but well worth the visit!

If you're not in a difficult situation, go ahead and visit; it was free on Sunday. There's usually an entrance fee.

13/12/2025: We stopped by today for a bite to eat at the Christmas market. A lovely elderly lady welcomed us despite the late hour. The tarte flambée was delicious and homemade. We'll be back!
