A very pleasant place, this UFO lost opposite a small Isarian train station. This review is intended to be constructive, as everything could be improved.
First of all, the place offers a surprising decor, made up of slightly psychedelic lighting hanging from floor to ceiling, inherited from the establishment's previous management. We are immersed in fairly refined furnishings but with a Saturday Night Fever feel. This lends itself rather well to the themed evenings promised by the establishment. In this case, that evening, it was a karaoke night that was announced.
In terms of gastronomy, the "gourmet" aspect of the stopover is a bit exaggerated. We always look for traces of rum in an overly sweet mojito drowned in an avalanche of crushed ice. For €7.50, we want value for our money and a taste of the real rum... maybe the managers care about our road safety? The menu is kept to a minimum, with 5 or 6 dishes at most. It's not haute cuisine, but it's decent, nothing more. It's worth noting that the prices are quite reasonable. We know we're not staying at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but a little more elaborate cuisine or a daily special would be welcome. As for the service, the young ladies are cheerful, but the task isn't easy in a saturated soundscape. This inevitably leads to order errors, delays... in short, it's a bit disorganized, and you can tell the owner is a bit stressed.
Let's move on to the entertainment itself. The sound is good, and the room is equipped with numerous monitors allowing you to follow the karaoke lyrics almost anywhere in the room. Several microphones are available, perfect for singing groups. The choice was made here to use the Karafun app with an interactive system where customers can directly sign up for songs; it's practical and efficient.
As for the evening's flow, karaoke fans will be disappointed, very disappointed. The host imposes endless musical transitions between each karaoke session. Worse, since he's a DJ, he has an irrepressible urge to get people dancing... so during this time, no one sings. This is truly frustrating for the karaoke singers, who hadn't been told it would be a "dance party"... in short, a bit of a misrepresentation. As a result, some were only able to sing one song, especially since the establishment closes way too early... midnight. When you advertise a karaoke night, you get people singing, and then you go on... too bad. Just by removing the musical interludes between each singer, we could have heard almost 10 more songs... really annoying. In short, the venue is cool, the food is "nice little brasserie" quality. The host is professional and well-equipped, but irrelevant to the advertised entertainment.
Oh yes... the Facebook page and Instagram page are catastrophic, not up to date at all, with information that's over a year old.
All in all, it was a nice evening, but with a few annoying points that could easily be fixed... We'll be back!
