L Auberge Paysanne sur Robion

We booked the venue for a birthday party, and the cook prepared an excellent bouillabaisse. There were 20 of us, and we had a great time.

Very friendly staff, very pretty place

The welcome, the kindness, the garden, and the cleanliness are all top-notch. Unfortunately, the food was not at all to my taste. The starters, which came in numerous glass jars, were well presented; you helped yourself with teaspoons from the various jars. But what's the point of having lentils, spelt, potatoes, pasta, red cabbage, mushrooms, ratatouille on your plate? The guinea fowl was good and well-cooked, but the side dish, a Provençal tomato, was covered in grated cheese that tasted like something from the fridge. The dessert, a sort of strawberry cake, lacked strawberries, and the mousseline cream was a bit grainy. However, it wasn't bad because it was so sweet. For me, the culinary experience was mixed.

In the already quite expensive Provence, where the set menu, if there's one at all, starts at €50, not to mention the wine prices, the Auberge La Table Paysanne is a commendable exception! The set menu has everything, I mean everything (aperitif, three courses, and a plateau de fromage, wine, and coffee for €40!!) And the individual courses are truly something special! Nothing run-of-the-mill, everything lovingly prepared, and the service attentive and friendly. A wonderful experience.
