La Barcarole sur Saint-Valery-En-Caux

On this beautiful July evening, I was swept away in Saint Valéry en Caux. The table at "La Barcarole" charmed my inner child. The song of the Venetian gondoliers captivated me completely. I attuned myself to their melody by sheer serendipity. Like the gentle sway of a boat, the experience was relaxing. The mussels in cream sauce with Roquefort cheese were simply irresistible. Being by the sea, I dined like a king. The homemade fries and the freshness of the seafood were intoxicating. They have mastered the art of cooking down to the smallest detail. Precise technique combined with charming service. A warm establishment that takes pride in its hospitality. A museum-like setting, a homey atmosphere that one loves. I succumbed to dessert and chose the financier. It was candied orange, served with hot chocolate. The vanilla scoop provided a subtle contrast. I I was so overjoyed, it warmed my heart. The restaurant industry is fiercely competitive. They easily stand out thanks to their strong values. They pride themselves on creating a festive atmosphere. They are there to create a serene culinary journey. I thank the staff for their dedication and their smiles. They lived up to their reputation. All my senses were in ecstasy, I felt a thrill. Very friendly staff, excellent food, fresh ingredients; we went twice during our stay. I highly recommend it. You can even leave with beautiful handmade creations... 😀

We went on Thursday evening, the chicken Camembert was perfect. However, the oriental pizza was a disaster, just mush with a few pieces of merguez sausage, and our neighbors at the next table had the same thing—mush. You'll have to go back to the original recipe. Good luck to you!

The pizzas have a thin crust and are very generously topped. The fries are homemade, and the prices are really reasonable. Thank you for your welcome and your kindness! And well done to the chef! There's just a little bit of chocolate missing from the desserts 😉
