La bascule sur Saint-Valery-En-Caux

We stopped at La Bascule for a drink, and decided to return for lunch after a walk around the harbour. The lady owner was lovely and so helpful. The menu is small, but very reasonably priced. We ordered our meal, but then became concerned as so many more people seemed to be eating at a nearby location. We did a quick check of TA, and La Bascule had better reviews. Our meal arrived, and was excellent and clearly home cooked. I had the lasagne which was delicious and home made, and a huge plate of salad. My husband had the fish cassoulet which he said was absolutely delicious. Also, real chips made from potatoes, not frozen fluff!! We had been in France for 12 days, this was our last meal before catching the ferry home, and not only was it the best meal, it was also the cheapest. Why there weren't more customers, I really don't know. It was fantastic!

Nice little restaurant, warm welcome, calm and pleasant musical atmosphere. Excellent meal. We give you time to have a quiet lunch facing the port.
