For a mountain restaurant, the quality is exceptional. Everything is homemade, unlike most mountain restaurants that offer frozen burgers and dry croque monsieur.
As for the price, remember we're at altitude! Transportation, service... everything is expensive.
Offering locally smoked salmon and rabbit with mustard sauce as daily specials is something I don't think many establishments can boast.
Homemade pastries, homemade whipped cream... what more could you ask for?

Despite the large crowds, the managers are very professional, paying attention to everyone and trying to satisfy as many people as possible. The food is good, homemade, and served in a warm atmosphere enhanced by the fireplace. I will gladly return on my next stay in Alpe d'Huez.
