La Cigale sur Gauchy

We went there for lunch today. We had been a few years ago and had fond memories of it, but unfortunately, the service is no longer the same. When we arrived, there were no customers ahead of us, so the staff wasn't busy. We said hello as we entered, but no one responded. The two employees looked at us and then continued their conversation without paying us any attention. Fortunately, the man taking our orders was very welcoming and gave us a warm welcome. In fact, he was the only one who responded when we said goodbye and wished them a good day as we left. As for the meal, we ate very well, and the dishes were good. It's all the more disappointing that the service was so poor. Despite the friendliness of the person taking our orders, such an attitude unfortunately doesn't make us want to return. The least a business can do is greet customers when they arrive and acknowledge them when they leave.

A chip shop offering a wide selection of dishes. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are more than reasonable, and above all, the food is very good. The terrace is a bonus when the weather is nice.

A first for us, and certainly not the last. The staff were very welcoming, the fries were delicious, and the steak tartare was very generous. We highly recommend it. Our only regret: not having come sooner!

Ordered today, no more nuggets for the kids' menu. The owner probably asked the cook to replace them with two chicken dips. She told him two was too small and not enough, but he unfortunately insisted to save money. So I switched to a sausage for the kids' menu... a disappointment for me, the quality of the bread, sauces, etc..... lost a customer as far as I'm concerned.
