La Croix d'Or sur Avranches

We were satisfied; the room was available at short notice, it was very quiet at night, the room was fine, and the breakfast was adequate. It's worth noting that you can order items like croissants at breakfast; not everything is available at the buffet.

We stayed two nights at this hotel for a short stay in Avranches, hoping to visit Mont Saint-Michel and the bay, but staying in a quiet, largely untouristed town. The hotel is splendid, an old half-timbered inn that served as a post station, now converted into a hotel and restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly, and the rooms were spacious and well-maintained, overlooking the internal garden. The restaurant, of course, is also worth a try. It's top-notch in terms of both quality and staff expertise, and the price is more than fair. The location within Avranches is excellent, just minutes from the town center and a supermarket open every day. Highly recommended if you want to experience a bygone era in a Norman town untouched by tourists.

A nice, quiet hotel in a central location with a lovely garden and attractive facade. The breakfast is good, plentiful, and of good quality. The food in the restaurant is exquisite. Parking was no problem.

Excellent meal. The daily special was very good. The waiters were friendly but not always aware of the ingredients in the dishes. Beautiful garden for lunch.

Beautiful, spacious room, and the bathroom was lovely too. Breakfast was a bit pricey but good, and there was private parking. The reception area and dining rooms were very nicely decorated.

Family event stay, 19 people, from July 18th to 20th, 2026. Wonderful moments spent by all of us. Behind the hotel, the parking lot and then the garden offer spacious areas designed for relaxation. The architecture is charming and welcoming, with rooms overlooking the garden, and a few facing the street without any noise issues. The hotel is a cozy space, thanks to the comfortable furniture and beautiful decor. (Restaurant and rooms)
