We had a wonderful time at this unassuming little restaurant, which, with its small terrace overlooking the sea and the bridge to Île d'Oléron, offers a magnificent view. Rose gave us a very warm welcome with a big smile and was also very attentive to our little dogs. A charming young woman. As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed it; the homemade dishes were very fresh, delicious, generous portions, and beautifully presented. The service from Rose was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant; don't miss it! You'll have a delightful experience, both for the taste buds and the eyes. Excellent value for money. Excellent experience at this seaside restaurant. I received a very warm welcome from the two waitresses, who checked in with me throughout the meal to make sure everything was alright. Furthermore, I have rarely eaten such a delicious, generous, and flavorful octopus dish; I truly enjoyed it! The menu may be short, but the dishes are expertly prepared and delicious.

I had a wonderful time at La Croix du Sud! The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, just a simple spot facing the sea, but once you taste the food, it's a real treat! A small menu, but the dishes are prepared with finesse – a delight. Impeccable service, thanks to Manon and Rose, who are always smiling and incredibly kind. I highly recommend it if you're stopping by the castle!

During the Ascension Day long weekend, the restaurant was packed (two very large tables inside), yet the service was impeccable. The waitresses and the owner were all smiles and attentive. The whole team went the extra mile. The dishes were perfect: oysters, whelks, octopus, mussels—everything was delicious. Good value for money overall. We highly recommend it!
