La Ferme Balard sur Paris

A bistro-style establishment offering traditional dishes. The service is pleasant and the food is very good.

The atmosphere of the restaurant really gave me the French experience I was looking for. I had the faux-filet with frites maison and escargots, while my wife had bruschetta. Honestly, I feel like I ate more than Louis XIV. The beer was great too — I had a Leffe Blonde. My French isn't the greatest, but I had no problem ordering food. Thanks to those Canadian French classes!

The service was adequate when we ordered. We ordered a 25cl carafe of Burgundy, the equivalent of two glasses. We were surprised by the amount of wine, as our dishes were generous and delicious. But when the bill arrived, we were charged for a 50cl carafe? Honestly, we drank the carafe, but we trusted the waiter. When it came time to pay, he insisted that we had ordered the carafe, even though two of us confirmed otherwise. We paid without making a fuss, but we certainly won't be back. Medium-sized sirloin steak with a lot of fat, waiter practically demanding a tip

They have whipped cream in a can here, it's amazing. Plus, they're always welcoming and courteous, even during the rush. Very good dishes, including classic brasserie fare, are delicious and well-portioned. And, quite rare in Paris, the restrooms are always clean and 100% functional.

I've only tried this place for my coffee breaks between the tram and buses at Balard. This café is right in the middle, on Place Balard and at the foot of the entrance (with elevator) to the Petite Ceinture railway. The prices are reasonable: a hazelnut coffee is €2.50, for example. Depending on the season, you can enjoy it in the Art Nouveau dining room or on the terrace, which has a shaded area. Thank you for the friendly and efficient service.

The welcome was great, unfortunately I found the food tasteless; it felt like I was eating something with Covid restrictions. I ordered a burger. Considering the price, I'm disappointed.
