La Flambée sur Villers-Pol

A very pleasant surprise awaited us at La Flambée, a charming farmhouse with exposed beams and a fireplace for grilling meats. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented. Meat lovers will be delighted with the Angus ribeye.

The food is good but overpriced for the quality; €33 for a veal medallion or quail is the price you'd find in Michelin-recommended restaurants. This place isn't up to that standard. In my opinion, it's overpriced by 20%. The wine selection by the glass is very limited, of poor quality, and served like in a brasserie. Two hours for a main course and a coffee at lunchtime, with only 15% occupancy, is an hour too long. The organization needs improvement. The overall experience falls short, and other restaurants would be a better fit for the price and time commitment.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant nestled near Le Quesnoy. The setting is both warm and bright, ideal for a romantic dinner or a family meal 😋 As for the food, it was flawless from start to finish: The main course: An incredibly tender flank steak, perfectly cooked and accompanied by crisp baby vegetables. A real treat for meat lovers. And to finish on a high note, the dark chocolate and hazelnut ganache cube was a pure delight, as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to eat. Visually, the presentation was worthy of a fine dining establishment. The service was attentive and the value for money was excellent. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
