After hearing about the rebranding of La Fontaine du Bonheur, now known as Phoenix, I was curious to see if the restaurant's quality and spirit were still there. Honestly, after several visits, I can say without exaggeration that this restaurant more than deserves its reputation and is among the best culinary experiences I've had in Metz, and even far beyond.
From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel something different. The restaurant exudes an elegant, warm, and authentic atmosphere. The new "Phoenix" identity is perfectly apt: the place seems to have evolved into something even more refined while retaining the friendly and family-oriented spirit that was already the charm of La Fontaine du Bonheur. The decor is magnificent, modern without losing its traditional Asian soul. The lighting, the details, the table layout, the discreet music… everything has been tastefully designed to create a soothing and upscale ambiance.
But the most impressive thing is undoubtedly the food. Honestly, I've never eaten such delicious, expertly prepared, and generous Chinese food. Every dish seems to be made with incredible precision and, above all, genuine passion. Here, you don't just eat a meal; you have an experience. From the very first bites, you immediately understand that the ingredients are fresh, carefully selected, and cooked by people who deeply love their craft.
What also makes Phoenix unique is its consistency. No matter the day or time, the quality remains impeccable. Each visit gives the impression that the restaurant is constantly striving to exceed its customers' expectations. You can feel a real attention to detail in every dish, every gesture, and every interaction with the staff.
And speaking of service, I've rarely felt so welcome in a restaurant. The entire team is remarkably kind. The servers take the time to advise, explain the dishes, and ensure that every customer has a perfect experience. There's a sincerity to the welcome that's becoming extremely rare these days. You never feel like just another customer, but like an important guest. Even when the restaurant is full, the staff remains smiling, professional, and incredibly efficient.
The value for money is also impressive. Considering the level of cuisine, the quality of service, and the overall experience, the prices are more than reasonable. Many much more expensive restaurants don't even manage to reach this level of quality and authenticity.
This restaurant more than deserves to be considered one of the best Asian restaurants in Metz, or even in the Grand Est region. Phoenix isn't just a place where you eat well: it's a place where you create memories, where you share precious moments around exceptional cuisine. It's the kind of place you proudly recommend to your friends and family, because you know they too will have a memorable experience.
I can say without hesitation that Phoenix has become my favorite restaurant. Every visit is a pure pleasure, and every meal makes me want to come back even sooner. Congratulations to the entire team for their remarkable work, the passion evident in every detail, and their ability to deliver such a rare level of excellence.
If you're in Metz and you love Asian cuisine, look no further: Phoenix is simply an absolute must-try. A true culinary gem that deserves to be known far beyond the city.

Good parking, plenty of space, friendly waitress, you just have to be polite and make yourself understood. We'll be back.

The place was very beautiful and very quiet, and the waitress was great. However, whether it was the food or the (non-alcoholic) cocktails, it really wasn't up to par.
The cocktails were way too sweet, impossible to finish, and the food was tasteless… very dry, whether it was the cheese, calamari, or onion fritters, or the spring rolls, etc.
I don't recommend it, especially considering the price of the evening menu… I won't be back.
