Long ago, it was "Chez Geneviève," named after that fantastic lady who too often treated me to ice cream and made the best croque monsieur in Banyuls. Today, La Ganotte, though obviously operating in a different style (catering heavily to tourists), continues to offer a warm welcome and croque monsieur worthy of Geneviève.

Absolutely fantastic!! I arrived at 3pm and couldn't resist a delicious sandwich!! And the young cook was excellent, very pleasant!!

A great find. Small, well-located restaurant. Friendly, family-run atmosphere. Excellent mussels marinière. Very reasonable prices. Lovely sunny terrace. We'll definitely be back!

Truly relaxed atmosphere on edge of marina with chilled happy staff and a great local menu. Whilst visiting it was clearly a favourite of the locals - give it a go - great food and drink and excellent value. Merci!

A very pleasant surprise, a restaurant with a beautiful view of the harbor. Truly top-notch service, very attentive. BUT... what's essential in a restaurant... It's still the food, and it's really very good and very respectful of the customer's needs. I didn't take photos of the dishes, but the hanger steak was cooked exactly to order (blue). The grilled sardines were excellent. It's so rare when you can be delighted... A true pleasure. Thank you, and respect to you. Some Normans passing through

04/10/2025: Completely agree with Mélina. The restaurant doesn't look like much, but it faces a cove with excellent food! What a nice surprise. Mama's recipes are great 😜. Great time
24/09/2025: We had a very good meal there, it's a shame that the experience was spoiled by the slow and disorganized service. More than 2.5 hours for an appetizer, a starter, and a main course for two at lunchtime, while the terrace was far from full. Two tables that arrived after us were served before. We didn't order dessert, tired of the wait. The staff was friendly, but the service seemed disrupted that day. Regrettable because the contents of the plates were of good quality.
