We were disappointed compared to what La Glycine offered a few years ago. The welcome was still pleasant, but it was surprising to find that ordering à la carte was cheaper than choosing a set menu, which raises questions. The dishes lacked consistency: the half-lobster and the bagel were identical for both the starter and the main course, barely accompanied by a few fries that seemed reheated. The lobsters and shrimp were overcooked and dry, and the beef, ordered medium, arrived overcooked. The service, usually impeccable, was lacking: long wait, glasses not cleared, crumbs on the table, bread not replenished… even though the restaurant was far from full. As for desserts, the pear tart, dry and of mediocre quality, was disappointing, although the other desserts were acceptable. We regularly dine on the Normandy coast where, for a similar price, we find a much higher quality of service and cuisine. What a shame: Glycine, once a benchmark, no longer offers the expected level in view of the price.

On the day, we received a warm welcome in a beautiful setting that our guests appreciated. The food was excellent, high quality, and the service was impeccable. Everyone was very satisfied. I highly recommend this well-known restaurant in the Caen area; it's a sure bet.

Last night, we had dinner at La Glycine as a couple. We have absolutely nothing to complain about, only positive things to say. The welcome, the friendliness, the good humor, and the wit were all there (special mention to our waitress). As for the meal, it was a very pleasant surprise for our taste buds; it was a real treat! (Perfect egg followed by vegetable risotto... then the warm cookie). And very good value for money. We'll be back!
