It's always a great pleasure to eat North African cuisine at Le Grand Monarque. It's always my go-to place for a typical North African meal. It's always so pleasant and friendly, and there's always a good crowd. Good value for money. Thank you.

I had a chicken, honey, and raisin tagine, which was very good. The pastries were definitely not fresh. The setting is authentic, with a real oriental atmosphere. My only slight complaint is that the staff talk very loudly amongst themselves as if they were alone.

All six of us who were there for the meal loved the couscous. The decor is a bit dated but perfectly adequate for a pleasant evening with friends. The service was average.

19/05/2026: A very good experience at this restaurant. The Indian dishes were delicious, well-presented, and the value for money is excellent considering the quality offered. The service was good with a reasonable wait time, and the atmosphere is classic and pleasant, perfect for a relaxing meal. A great place in Étampes to discover or rediscover Indian cuisine without any unpleasant surprises. I will gladly return.
05/05/2026: Oddly enough, Indian food is usually quite spicy, whereas this was rather bland. I left the table feeling rather disappointed.

09/06/2026: What can I say about this KFC? The KFC in Étampes is like all the other KFCs in France; what I personally appreciate about this chain are the tenders with the spicy sauces.
31/05/2026: KFC was very clean, the service was fast, and the waitress was very pleasant. I would gladly return.
