A small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a pleasant surprise once you step inside. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is excellent and quite generous. And the service is top-notch. I'll definitely be back as soon as I get the chance.

A real treat! Discovered by chance during a stroll through town. Very friendly and smiling staff. Excellent meal. The frog legs flambéed with rice wine are truly delicious.

If you want to travel through the flavors of China, go for it! We tried a starter, two main courses, and the desserts. What can we say except that everything was delicious, fresh, generously served, and prepared with great skill? Our taste buds thank you for this culinary journey!

After reading numerous highly positive reviews, we decided to try La Jonque d’Or. We were looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, far removed from the large all-you-can-eat restaurants that sometimes resemble giant fast-food chains more than genuine traditional dining establishments. I must admit that upon arrival, we hesitated for a moment. The restaurant's entrance doesn't particularly showcase what awaits inside. The exterior presentation might even deter some visitors. And yet, what a mistake it would be to stop at that first impression! Because behind this unassuming facade lies a true gem. The dishes are remarkably prepared. The flavors are balanced, the aromas subtle, and the herbs and seasonings perfectly mastered. Every bite testifies to true expertise. The spring rolls, in particular, were absolutely extraordinary: without a doubt among the best I have ever eaten. This discovery resonated deeply with me. During my teenage years, my neighbors ran a family-run Chinese restaurant where I used to eat. I discovered authentic, generous, and fragrant cuisine there, a memory I cherish. For nearly thirty years, despite numerous attempts at different establishments, I had never recaptured that feeling. La Jonque d’Or has reopened this culinary Pandora’s box. Even better: I rediscovered the sensations of my teenage years… and I must admit, it was even better. As for the price, we spent approximately €120 for two people: two cocktails, two glasses of Pouilly-Fumé, one appetizer each, two main courses, a dessert, and an herbal tea. This may seem like a lot, but considering the quality of the ingredients, the skill in the kitchen, the generous portions, and the sheer pleasure it provided, the value for money is entirely justified. We absolutely did not regret the expense. A special mention for the young waiter, the owner's son, who was particularly attentive and charming throughout the meal. The entire team made an excellent impression on us. The restaurant is impeccably clean. Even the restrooms, while simpler than the rest of the place, are perfectly maintained. In short, don't be fooled by the restaurant's exterior. The difference between the first impression and the actual quality of the experience is simply striking. A wonderful discovery, sincere, generous, and profoundly authentic. Hats off to the whole team. Thank you, thank you! Thank you, thank you! The food: outstanding!!!! Eating in a cellar is something special! Disappointed by the menu of the day, ordinary and not very tasty.

My partner and I had a lovely time. The starter was spring rolls, followed by a Thai beef and basil dish—the meat was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. Then came a stir-fried pork dish with sweet and sour sauce, served with vegetables, rice, and shrimp paste... A real feast! Of course, we enjoyed a glass of red and white wine for my wife. Simply perfect! Thank you to the chef, the waiter, and the manager! 👍😁

I had dinner at La Jonque d’Or in Metz and have wonderful memories of it. The spring rolls as a starter were crispy and fragrant, and the sweet and sour pork with fried rice was perfectly fresh and delicious. The waitresses are lovely, kind, and efficient, which adds to the experience. My only slight criticism is that the restaurant's entrance could use a bit more modern touches, but once inside, you'll be won over. I highly recommend it and give it 5 stars!
