La Licorne sur Beynes

We arrived at 12:50 PM and still hadn't received anything to eat by 2:20 PM! The wait was long and unexplained, but the meal was delicious afterward. The chef came to apologize at our table.

We discovered this restaurant a little over two years ago through a friend. Since then, we've been at least 25 times, if not more. That's how much we love it. It's a pleasure to introduce it to friends and family because we know they'll have a wonderful time. We haven't found anything better in the area, and when we want to have a good lunch somewhere, we very often come here. Why? 1/ Excellent food. 2/ Plenty of choice. 3/ Dishes that are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat. 4/ Surprisingly reasonable prices considering the quality. 5/ We've never been disappointed. Of course, the food isn't served in five minutes flat (you'd have to go to a fast-food restaurant for that, and if you like eating just about anything for barely less than here), but that also means it's serious cooking. We're going back in two days, if there's room (with an acquaintance from Lille to whom we've often spoken about La Licorne). Congratulations to this restaurant and its chef who so often delight us! The 5 stars across the board are more than well-deserved. Mr. Piat, it's clear you love cooking and care about your customers, taking great care to ensure they enjoy a wonderful meal. You are a true professional.

Good value for money for the lunch menu.

A perfect treat: a table for two, a lovely setting, and a warm atmosphere. The newly introduced summer menu, featuring starters, main courses, and desserts, delighted us once again. A wonderful time shared. Highly recommended.

Impeccable service, the dishes are of very high quality, especially the foie gras, and the meat side dishes are generously portioned. I highly recommend it.

Fourth time at La Licorne. The food is always very good, but this time I was very disappointed by my starter, advertised as "asparagus and shrimp medley." First, the presentation: served in a basic, rather unattractive bowl instead of a plate, and then the contents, disappointing: small pieces of cut white asparagus, without the tips, peeled mini shrimp, and cherry tomatoes in a bland sauce. It's understandable that this would have been even less presentable on a plate. In short: a poor innovation, not up to the standard of the other starters on offer. You can't get it right every time! The main course was flawless.

We arrived late for lunch and received a very warm welcome. The food is excellent, and the price is definitely not excessive considering the quality. But we'll be back, especially because of the amazing red-haired waitress who went above and beyond to bring us our starter, main course, and dessert in a very short time, all with a smile, because in addition to arriving late, I had a meeting right after. She's clearly the kind of gem every restaurant owner would want on their team. Thank you, she's a real gem, and we'll be back very soon!
