I had lunch three times in August at this establishment. It's a place out of time. You're not in a restaurant; you're eating in a welcoming home with the feeling of being right at home. The husband is in the kitchen, the wife is serving. They are both highly skilled and clearly love their work. The cuisine is inventive, featuring seasonal produce (it's not uncommon to run into the chef at the Verneuil-sur-Avre market on Saturday mornings, provided you get up early), and frankly, it deserves a Michelin star; this restaurant is well worth the detour. The atmosphere is so warm and familial that you want to stay.
