La Maree sur Pirou

A pleasant restaurant in a good location with friendly staff. The mussels were perfect. It's a shame the fries weren't homemade. The wait was a bit long (almost 25 minutes) even though the restaurant wasn't full. I recommend it.

A very mixed review. On the one hand, the mussels were honestly delicious, and the oysters were very good too. On the other hand, the Norman galette was clearly not homemade (and if it was, that's a shame) and very small (hardly a proper dish). The service was frankly casual and unfriendly. The table next to us had clearly been forgotten (they arrived before us and were served long after). When the English tourists sitting there politely pointed this out, they were quite rudely dismissed. The placemats for children are very nice, but impossible to use: when we asked for a pencil or pen to answer the questions and play the games on them, we were told there weren't any left because "the customers stole them all." "A restaurant with potential, but which maintains a curious relationship with its clientele, who are not allowed to 'share a dish' elsewhere, and which could use a general tidying and maintenance."

We had a very good meal, the service and welcome were excellent.

The restaurant needs a name change, as there's very little on the menu that evokes the sea. Also, some prices need reviewing; €9.80 for a bottle of water... that's almost Ritz-style pricing!

The nice guys take your order right away, the food is delicious. I had two different types of mussels, a burger, and dessert. They don't know how to make French fries—they're all brown, and they're in overcooked oil. :( The desserts are excellent!

After reading several reviews, here is our opinion on the restaurant. The service was slow (50-minute wait) for two drinks and two main courses. Overall, it was okay, but it's a shame to have such a long wait.

Very pleasant service, excellent meal, generous portions and a full restaurant (a good sign). Keep up the good work!
