A wonderful mother-daughter outing in this unique and utterly charming place! From the decor to the food and the service, everything was perfect! We'll definitely be back in the warmer months to try out the equally lovely outdoor area!

A restaurant I can't recommend highly enough! The storefront, beautifully decorated with originality and refinement for the holiday season, immediately sets the tone and promises a truly wonderful experience. The interior is just as charming: a warm atmosphere, quality furnishings, and tasteful decor that invite you to settle in and enjoy the moment. We had lunch around a superb round table, its glass top resting on a tree trunk—a detail that was both aesthetically pleasing and unique. From start to finish, we were delighted: flavorful, creative cuisine, perfectly executed and presented with great elegance. We finished this delicious meal with an absolutely divine Hirsch coffee (not to be missed, thank you Clément!). Before leaving, we couldn't resist one of the many decorative items for sale. It was carefully wrapped in a lovely gift box, true to the spirit of the restaurant: creative, refined, and full of charm. 😍 A huge thank you for your warm welcome and for the wonderful time we spent at your establishment. Without a doubt, we will be back for lunch as soon as we have the pleasure of returning to your beautiful region! 😃

The atmosphere is warm and the decor truly unique, giving the place a lot of charm. The appetizer was incredible, bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. However, the main course was a bit of a letdown: the flavors were rather bland and the portion was small. The prices are also a little high, but overall the experience was still positive. I recommend it for the ambiance and the appetizers, which are definitely worth the trip.

We were looking for a restaurant in the area to grab a bite to eat, and it was getting a bit late. While driving, we saw a light on and pulled in, and we stumbled upon a real gem in Genets. We had a delicious meal and a wonderful time with the staff and our table neighbors. Superb!

We stayed in nearby Vains in October 2025 and happened upon La Pause Des Genets, much to our delight. It was the best meal we had during our three-week visit to France. Three of us had the beef and the other one had the duck and all were cooked to perfection. Everything seemed fresh and locally sourced. The staff was engaging and good-naturedly suffered our horrible French. If you are in this area of Normandy, we highly recommend La Pause Des Genets.
