La Socca d'Or sur Nice

A very good restaurant if you want to discover Niçoise cuisine. Just a few more onions on the Pizzaladière wouldn't hurt. The socca was very good, even if greasier than usual. Losing a star for the poor service...no polite greeting whatsoever. The owner didn't even say hello; he just put the change on the table without a word.

The socca is great here, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Reasonable prices, good local food choices, great service. This is where the locals go for socca. Go here and avoid the line at the other place (Chez Pipo).

Best Socca in Nice, without comparison, since I was about 6 years old, the quality has never changed.

Niçoise cuisine, very good socca, friendly atmosphere, smiling service, good value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed the croq-soc, a modern twist on the classic croque monsieur with socca, tomatoes, and peppers. The indoor dining area and the pleasant street terrace are both lovely.

Amazing place so tasty I love it

A huge disappointment after years of loyalty. It feels like the owner has lost interest in his work. A shame for the staff, and especially for Serge, who gives his all and always manages a smile despite a boss who's practically grumpy. The socca was too thick and greasy, and the same went for the pissaladière.

Authentic Niçois classics with creative twists in a warm, welcoming setting! ​If you are looking for genuine Niçois specialties away from the tourist traps of the old town, La Socca d'Or on Rue Bonaparte is an absolute gem. The interior has a cozy, rustic-chic vibe with warm rope pendant lighting, wine crate greenery, and vintage local photography. ​Here is what we ordered (bill total: €41.40 for two): ​La Socca (€5.00): Arrived steaming hot, perfectly crisped with lightly charred blistered edges on the outside and wonderfully creamy and soft inside. Easily one of the top soccas in Nice. ​Croque Socc' (€15.00): A brilliant house specialty! It’s a creative twist on a croque monsieur using layers of socca stuffed with roasted peppers, cured ham (jambon cru), melted mozzarella, fresh tomato, and basil, served with a fresh dressed mesclun salad. Hearty, inventive, and deeply flavorful. ​Assiette de Poivrons Grillés (€13.00): Sweet, silky marinated roasted red peppers accompanied by salted anchovies, Nice olives, pistou, fresh salad, and crusty bread. Refreshing and packed with Mediterranean flavor. ​Pissaladière (€4.20): Generously topped with meltingly soft, sweet caramelized onions, anchovy, and local olives on a thick, satisfying crust. ​Pizza Reine slice (€4.20): A delicious, comfort-food slice loaded with sautéed mushrooms, ham, and melted cheese. ​Important tip: Like many traditional establishments in the area, they do not accept credit cards (Cash only / Pas de CB), so be sure to stop by an ATM beforehand. ​Friendly service, generous portions, fair prices, and incredible local food. A must-visit when exploring the Port/Garibaldi neighborhood!

Absolutely delicious for local dishes! Staff is great and it a quiet place with enough place.
