La Sterne sur Auray

The food was very good for the price of the lunch menu. Pleasant waitress. Nice decor. Table overlooking greenery. I enjoyed the perfectly balanced ti' punch (quite rare, I must mention).

I have very mixed feelings about our visit to your establishment. - The food: perfect, very good dishes, creative, interesting flavors. Bravo to the Chef! - The service and atmosphere: very disappointed. The service was not up to standard at all. We were seated on the terrace at tiny bar tables with uncomfortable chairs. We waited a long time for the menus. The dishes arrived, and the cutlery was only brought to us afterward, held in our hands instead of placed on a plate on a shelf. The bottle arrived at the table already opened when it should have been uncorked in front of us. We were there to celebrate our son's 25th birthday, and we would have liked a nice table, even indoors, but with a pleasant setting. As it was, we felt very uncomfortable. We were offered a glass of champagne (or sparkling wine?) because it was my son's birthday, for which we were grateful. For me, going to a restaurant is a complete experience: good food in a pleasant setting with attentive service. Here, only one out of three things was great. A shame.
