We found the food at Armada to be beautifully served, well thought out and the flavours melded very well. The dishes were creative, and very interesting. The servers spent the time to explain the foods on the menu and also helped out on the wine selection.
We came here on recommendation of Dutch tour guide Paul. Find him on free tours Lyon.
Quiet, peaceful restaurant. Good atmosphere. Friendly service. Excellent food. The artichoke with a light tasty herb sauce was delicious.
Aubergine parmigiana was excellent.
Good BBQ octopus. Fresh and tasty.
Millefeuille with pomelo superb. All very attractively presented.
Good Beaujolais wine at good price. Finished off with a digestive.
In short: "burst of flavors". But what this restaurant has - the south American twist on the French Lyonnese classic dishes. And the twist works. The combinations are surprising and delicious.
Just an example: artichoke with beef tartar or chocolate mousse with champignions.
The "starters" were in the form of amuse-bouches. The price was truly exorbitant considering the quantity: a feeling of frustration, as the cooking was otherwise skillful. For the artichoke: the least tender leaves were served! Where were the soft, melt-in-your-mouth leaves that are so delicious when you know how to cook this vegetable properly? The parsley sabayon was very well done. Again, the quantity was insufficient, and I'm not a big eater.
In short: insufficient quantity for the price. Afraid of being disappointed with dessert, we stopped there...
