La Taulada sur Castelnau-Magnoac

La Taulada... I highly recommend it! From appetizer to dessert, nothing to complain about... refined and delicious cuisine... the staff is top-notch!! We had a wonderful time in a remarkable setting!!! There were four of us, and we were all extremely satisfied with this restaurant, which we discovered on August 16, 2026. I highly recommend this establishment.

To celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we wanted to try this renowned restaurant. We weren't disappointed: a perfect and attentive welcome from a knowledgeable and attentive waiter, an excellent meal prepared by Chef Matthias, whom we were fortunate enough to know, and a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, all in a beautiful setting. We had the opportunity to chat with the chef after our meal and appreciated the thoughtful touch of a complimentary glass of wine at the register. A truly wonderful evening and a beautiful place, highly recommended, and we will definitely return to try the signature dish: the duck breast casserole. Thank you for everything. Fantastic food. We took the 3-course summer menu. An incredibly tasty and beautifully presented stuffed zucchini with crab and crawfish, then tuna and beef. I had been looking forward to this meal for a long time because la Taulada is one of my family's favorite places to eat in the area. The view is amazing and the entrée (zucchini flower with crevette mousse) was one of the best I have ever had. The combination of flavours and textures was perfect. Then the main arrived. My family is from the Gers so we eat a lot of magret, and I was keen for La Taulada's take on it. Well, turns out that their take is to provide a large quantity of tough and rubbery (overcooked) meat with a massive side of sautéed potatoes. In July. Magret needs to be handled fondly, it's delicate -- you err on the side of undercooking, not over. My father's main (ris de veau) was lovely, so the restaurant clearly knows how to make amazing mains. It has been several hours and I'm still sad and confused about our meal. Advice? If you visit this month, steer clear of the magret. Next month when there's a new menu? Probably best to arrive late to see how the other patrons are going before ordering.

Excellent meal and beautiful view of the lake

First visit on July 1st: perfect! Smiling and efficient waiter, taking our order and serving us perfectly. The service was on time. We, of course, tried the duck breast casserole, the restaurant's signature dish. Excellent. The dish was plated right in front of us, cooked exactly how I like it: not too pink, and the potatoes were divine. All served at the ideal temperature. The wine of the week was very reasonably priced (a welcome change from some places that overcharge for boxed wine). Add to that the lovely dishes at neighboring tables and a very surprising and original dessert, and you have the secret to a successful lunch. The bill was entirely justified, and we'll be back soon, especially since the view from the restaurant is sublime. Very good indeed, thank you to the team.

We came with friends for a delicious meal and we weren't disappointed. Every dish was a delight. Special mention for the duck breast casserole; I've never eaten such a good duck breast. The drinks are reasonably priced and there's a nice wine list. The servers were very welcoming, combining good humor and professionalism. We'll be back.
