If Gault&Millau has once again awarded this restaurant perched high above Saint-Marcellin, in this 15th-century castle, it's because something truly unique is happening here.
Chef Samuel Didier never ceases to surprise and reinvent himself. Three years after my first visit, I promised myself I would return with Christelle and my friends to La Tivollière, Samuel and Alexandrine's restaurant.
Tonight, the passion is still going strong!
The "L'éclat de l'or noir" (The Splendor of Black Gold) regional truffle menu offered us a true gastronomic journey: delicate amuse-bouches, crispy snails with a hint of garlic, scallops and parsnips with seaweed, slow-cooked rabbit with endive carbonara, truffle cappuccino, and finally, a sublime vanilla caramel and chocolate dessert.
Each dish reveals remarkable skill and sensitivity.
The wine list perfectly complements the aromatic notes of the terroir.
Stars belong only to poets…

A truly excellent culinary experience: refined, inventive, creative, and the chef is daring… The service is impeccable yet warm and attentive, the children's menu is fantastic, and the value for money is excellent. The wine pairing is perfect!
You can feel the passion that drives this restaurant and its cuisine in a warm setting where I didn't notice a single decorative flaw. The choices are tasteful, the ambiance is perfect, and it's well soundproofed by ceiling panels with soft background music.
Perhaps a small effort could be made to refresh the decorative elements at the entrance and in the garden, but at this level, it's a minor detail.

We celebrated my husband's birthday and had a wonderful meal. It was so delicious… but that wasn't all! The service made a huge difference too.
The young staff, always smiling and fun-loving, did a fantastic job. It was a real pleasure to see such a dedicated team!
And of course, the kindness and professionalism of the owners make all the difference. A chef who is so attentive to his customers, who comes to the dining room several times to chat with us, is invaluable. A passionate, relaxed sommelier who listens to everyone and knows how to adapt to different personalities at the table… a true talent.
A thousand thanks for your warm welcome, and for the delicate touch of truffle that enhanced our dessert. Even our 12-year-old son was delighted!

We were very pleasantly surprised. We knew this place from the previous owners a few years ago, and frankly, we were a little disappointed with the quality at the end of their business. We decided to give it another try with the "new" owners, and it's been a resounding success! The food is absolutely divine. Every element of the dishes is carefully crafted, yet the flavors are truly authentic. The ingredients are showcased beautifully, not altered. We enjoyed every single bite, and the price was very reasonable. The chef is passionate, and he and his wife make a fantastic team! We'll definitely be back, and honestly, don't hesitate! A place to remember.

A little over a year ago, we stumbled upon the restaurant La Tivollière. It was love at first sight, from the setting and the warm welcome to the culinary journey it offers centered around truffles.
Returning is always a pleasure, as it was today when we chose to explore a new variation of the truffle menu with its wine pairing. Letting ourselves be guided, experiencing the passion emanating from each dish, discovering subtle and surprising flavors… Simply enjoying the moment. For all of this, a huge thank you!
