La Toscane sur Illiers-Combray

Excellent restaurant and very warm welcome. The food is very good, I highly recommend it.

The only restaurant in town open on a Monday, I wasn't expecting anything. I was very pleasantly surprised; a really good mountain burger for a reasonable price (around €15). The service was great, a nice surprise, I would recommend it.

Passing through the area, it was very good, generous portions, and an amazing dessert!

It's winter, so my sweetheart and I went to eat raclette at La Toscane restaurant in Illiers-Combray. Simply delicious! 👌😋😋 Unlimited potatoes 🥔 and unlimited cheese (melted and gently melting on the plate). All accompanied by 50cl of a perfect white wine. The owners are attentive and responsive to your requests. Look, I've created my "winter daisy" on my plate.

What a shame this restaurant is so poorly maintained! The windows, walls, and floors certainly haven't seen a cloth, mop, or cleaning product in ages! The smell tells you as soon as you walk in the door. We ordered pizzas. One was decent, but the other was undercooked; the meat had released water (not exactly a sign of quality). A cockroach kept us company, wandering along the wall next to our table. We can only imagine, with horror, that its little companions were roaming around the kitchen. These observations are all the more disappointing because the waitress was smiling and pleasant. They really need to make an effort with the cleanliness of the place!

We received a very warm welcome at this restaurant and the pasta was delicious during our visit for the Veloscenic ride!
