L'Absinthe sur La Garde-Adhemar

A must-visit restaurant in this magnificent medieval village perched on its hill. Every meal is a wonderful family experience, thanks to the friendly staff and the extensive menu. Everything is delicious!

L'Absinthe was a must-visit when we stayed in the Drôme region a few years ago; we must have gone at least ten times, with wonderful memories. During a quick stop in the area, I took the opportunity to make a short detour to the beautiful village of La Garde-Adhémar, a bit late in the day, hoping to have lunch there. I received a very warm welcome, arriving after 2 pm, and was offered a few dishes right there on the spot since the kitchen had just closed. In short, I enjoyed a delicious flank steak, cooked to perfection, accompanied by a generous and well-seasoned green salad, topped with crunchy seeds. The homemade fries were good, as was the sauce. The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional. All this in a very pleasant and welcoming setting. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the terrace.

A timeless moment… You come to L’Absinthe to enjoy yourself. You're not served immediately upon arrival for one simple reason: here, they cook from scratch… it's not microwaved or frozen food… it has real flavor and it's not bland. The terrace is a haven of relaxation; here, people respect each other. And what can I say about the service? With them, that word truly has its full meaning. You feel listened to; they are so kind and polite, a quality you rarely see anymore. We truly had a wonderful time! And we'll be back ♥️

Excellent meal and a very warm welcome from the staff. We ate very well: pork abanico for me and nuggets for my daughter (who loved them!), followed by a small rum baba for dessert. The terrace was very pleasant. The only slight drawback was that the restrooms are outside. We returned to this restaurant in March 2026 and were just as satisfied. We ate very, very well; it was delicious. And a special mention to the waitress, who was incredibly kind; it was a pleasure.

A delightful discovery while strolling through this charming village. Varied, refined, and sophisticated dishes, some even with a modern twist. The service and decor/venue were very pleasant.
