A natural gem, beautifully preserved, a magnificent spot with turquoise water in the heart of the forest 🌲 A small, secluded cove with a fine sandy beach... 🏖️ Very clean water 👍🏊‍♀️

A lovely lake with clear water and a sandy beach that slopes very gradually. Ideal for swimming and also suitable for families with children. There is a large parking lot about 25 meters from the shore. Please note: we were here on July 1st and the parking lot, which used to be free, now cost €7. If you want to avoid those costs, drive about two minutes further to Parking La Pergola, opposite Capfun. From there, you can also quickly reach the lake. At the beginning of the beach, you will mainly find day-trippers, tourists, and dog owners. If you walk further along the lake, you will find restaurants and bars where you can have a drink and rent pedal boats. It is about an hour's drive from campsite Les Bords de Loue in Parcey. A beautiful lake that is certainly worth a visit.

Parking costs €7, but it's an ideal spot to cool off and spend the day sometimes with your feet in the water, sometimes with your feet up on the grass!

We went for a walk around Lake Chalain, and in the end, the place is truly magnificent. We initially planned to walk about 5 km, trying to follow the trail colors indicated on the map—yellow, orange, red, and blue. But the trail markings seemed very unclear, even downright poor. We ended up on paths marked with yellow, orange, blue, and even red blazes... but they clearly corresponded to something else, perhaps a different walk altogether. As a result, because of this botched trail marking, our 5 km walk turned into a 9 km outing 😂😂😂 Fortunately, with the help of Strava, we were able to plan our route and fully enjoy the area. Despite this problem, the walk turned out to be superb: incredible views, beautiful trails, and a truly breathtaking setting. Also, be careful at the end of the trail: the route we were following finished with a fairly steep descent, with a path and metal stairs. With our puppy, this seemed a bit risky, so we decided to add about 1.9 km to avoid this section. Absolutely worth doing for the beauty of the place, but it's best to have a GPS app or a reliable GPS track available 😂
