L'Alcôve sur Roiffe

A wonderful experience, excellent service from the waiters, top-notch! We went there for our birthday and they even put candles on the table for us. I highly recommend it! 👍

We had a good time. Impeccable service 👍 however, the food wasn't exceptional. The meat was overcooked, the fish without sauce was dry, and the dessert wasn't homemade. A shame, nothing special. The setting was very nice.

Located on the grounds of the Roiffé golf course, the Garden has a stylish and welcoming decor that makes you feel right at home. The service was smooth, with no hiccups from the moment you arrived, so kudos to them. As for the food, it was rather disappointing. While nothing was bad, nothing offered any surprise or special touch, nothing evoked any emotion whatsoever. And that's a shame, considering the €40 menu; you expect a minimum level of quality. Starter: The soft-boiled egg with mushrooms, while classic, lacked personality and flavor. Main Course: The sea bream was good, but the side dishes were frankly not up to par. The rice deserved better than its presentation and preparation (see the photo in another review; you'll see what I mean). Dessert: The idea was there with this reimagined passion fruit pavlova. Unfortunately, the meringue was too imposing, the cream too heavy and too sweet, becoming cloying quite quickly. A smaller meringue with less cream, less sweetness, and a touch of passion fruit ice cream for refreshment would have been quite sufficient and more enjoyable. Looking at the menu, I get the impression the restaurant is caught between two stools. They'll have to choose: either focus on burgers/fries and Caesar salads, or create more sophisticated dishes. Personally, nothing made me want to return. The setting is pleasant, and the staff is friendly too, but that won't be enough to convince me to repeat the experience. At €40 for the set menu, I know better options in the area, much better indeed. (Check out my other reviews; you'll see.) I'm not saying it's not good at all, and the setting and atmosphere are pleasant, but for me, the food doesn't justify the price.

The establishment is clean and very well-maintained, with a perfect decor. The food is as beautiful as it is delicious, a true feast for the eyes and the palate. I highly recommend it!

It's a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting with a wonderful panoramic view of the grounds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. I'll certainly be going again.
