At Salvatore's, you're welcomed just like in Naples: with smiles, kindness, and Italian generosity. The advice is spot-on, the fresh pasta delicious, and the coffee simply perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; it was a wonderful discovery that I highly recommend. One small drawback: the owner has a rather strong personality. Arriving at 12:05, I was told, "It's 12:30! The hours are on the door!" So I waited, and was seated fairly quickly. Antipasti, still-warm pizza dough, good advice on the order... but no water on the table, and when the gentleman next to me asked for a carafe, he was given a San Pellegrino. As a result, I didn't dare ask for one. He's a bit disorganized, it's a take-it-or-leave-it situation, but the neighborhood regulars keep coming back. He's easygoing and straightforward. You go back for the food and for the owner's personality.
