L'Assiette Roannaise sur Saint-Forgeux-Lespinasse

We came for our meeting anniversary on July 14th. The start was off to a good start and the starter was delicious. But we had to wait 45 minutes to get our dish even though the room was not full and the people who arrived after us had already been served. Waiter and waitress looked at us from the service room. 2 identical yet different dishes on the plate (some calves eat grass but not all...). We will ignore the outraged look when we ordered a glass of wine for 2 (and yes, drinking or driving, you have to choose). The only time we had a smile was when we took out the credit card. In short, a disappointment for this evening but there are days with and days without, so 3 stars instead of 2.

Very good meal with impeccable service. Bravo to the young lady who serves kindly. We had a great time.

We had reserved for 2 couples Saturday noon June 28. We have already been asked to come for 12:15 p.m. and Surprise because we were forced to sit on the terrace because there was a meal for 21 people in the dining room with children. When I sat down on the plastic chair I noticed that my pants were sticking, on the edge of the chair, I got up and ran my hand down my pants; my fingers were full of caramel/chocolate, luckily I didn't have white pants. We reported it to the waiter who called the Boss... who replied "yet no one eats outside" and she pointed me to the toilets... so I cleaned my pants... not a word of apology, nor when she cashed us in… we had had an aperitif, she could have apologized and offered us 1 aperitif out of the 4… especially at the exorbitant price of €7 for a 33cl bottle of beer from the Charlieu brewery..!!! The couple of friends who accompanied me, not knowing this restaurant, were disappointed by the antipathy of the owner...

Very very nice discovery, we enjoyed the appetizer and dessert. Nice wine list. I highly recommend.

Très bon restaurant dans sa catégorie… un peu sous-évalué: au Michelin, mérite un macaron. Nous avons pris le menu à 45€, ma femme et moi, sans déception aucune — large choix. Avec un Kir royal chacun en entrée et une carafe de Sancerre — très bon cru, bouteille ouverte devant nous —, addition de quelque 150 €. C'est plus cher qu'au Central, à Roanne, mais, très sincèrement, supérieur du point de vue culinaire. Amuse-gueule délicieux, dont une crème à l'estragon. Le café de clôture est irréprochable. L'accueil est aimable, le service efficace et discret. Déjeuner sur la terrasse (moins bruyante qu'à l'intérieur). Bref, bonne surprise, très bonne expérience: nous reviendrons.
