L'auberge sur Pouligny-Saint-Pierre

A simple, unpretentious inn that deserves to be better known. It offers parking, a pleasant indoor dining room and shaded terrace, professionally prepared dishes, and high-quality ingredients. We particularly enjoyed the house specialty, flambéed prawns cooked on a spit, as well as other excellent options. Bravo! We'll be back.

Excellent welcome, superb food, definitely worth a return visit

We went there during a trip to the Brenne Regional Natural Park. Having seen my review, and knowing the previous owners, they recommended it, but without knowing if the new owners were as good. So, we were a little disappointed. The meat on a spit, flambéed with whisky, was a nice presentation, but it didn't add much. I expected better. It was still enjoyable, though a bit pricey for what it was. On the other hand, we were served a table that hadn't even been cleaned. It was still full of dirt or sand… a horror. When we pointed it out, they didn't even offer us a replacement or compensation… just that the cook would be notified. 😐 For an aperitif, we tried the fried carp… it tasted like mud. The fish must have been too big or poorly washed. Really not good. Otherwise, the service was friendly and the setting was pleasant. I think the restaurant is capitalizing on the image of meat on a spit, which is appealing. But I think it would be a bit more creative. I'll let you form your own opinion.

Family-run inn with impeccable service and good local products.

Excellent restaurant. The beef stew was simply superb. We were a group of 8 and didn't wait long at all, and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend it! 12/10!!

I recommend it, it's a great restaurant where you eat very well, the steaks for the burgers are cooked properly.

This is the third time we've been to this restaurant, and I've never been disappointed. The dining room is warm and inviting, the service impeccable, and above all, the food is delicious. Many restaurateurs should take a page from this establishment's book. Here, their primary goal is to please you. The flambéed prawns served on the counter are a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. As a side note, on our last visit, I wanted to order my favorite dessert as a starter. Unfortunately, they didn't have any available that day. But 30 minutes after we arrived, the chef came to tell me that she had arranged to make some for us. Now that's what I call service! A big thank you for your warm welcome.

Only 4.8/5!!!?? This little inn, a place where we love to eat, meet up, whether with family, as a couple, or in a business group, has become our go-to spot in the Blancois area. The team is dynamic, warm, caring, and welcoming, going the extra mile to please customers throughout the year by constantly improving their menu, sometimes struggling with staff shortages. We've trusted them for several years now and always recommend this excellent place: local, fresh produce, tasty, high-quality, and original recipes—there's something for everyone, from vegetarians to meat-eaters, including local favorites (carp fries and Pouligny cheese). Special mentions for: the "potences" (a type of grilled meat dish), the gourmet burgers, the desserts, the homemade fries... In short, go without hesitation (but not if you're not very hungry 😜). We'll miss this place a lot when we leave. 🥹
