07/07/2026: Excellent restaurant! The dishes are delicious, prepared with quality ingredients, and the portions are generous. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and very professional. I highly recommend this place; we will gladly return.

02/07/2026: I came to this restaurant because their website stated they offer vegetarian dishes. The starter was fantastic (fresh goat's milk panna cotta), a real delight, a very ingenious sweet and savory appetizer. The "vegetarian" dish, however, was just a side dish with sauce. The mashed potatoes were over-seasoned; you couldn't even tell the vegetables were there. The sauce itself was very good. Seeing the Japanese influences in the restaurant, I think it's a shame the chef didn't think of a tofu dish. My grandmother ordered the fish, which was cooked to perfection. The Black Forest cake with cherry sorbet was very good. The service was impeccable.

01/08/2026: Magnificent terrace, classy interior, the pizzas are super good, the service super friendly, nothing to complain about, when I come back to Châteauroux I know where to eat, I highly recommend it, don't hesitate to go, be careful the front is not amazing, don't be fooled by the poor sign, once inside you will be captivated.

04/08/2026: We had a delicious meal here. Spring rolls, just like the ones you get in Vietnam, and fried noodles with beef strips or seafood. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. I was allowed to test for myself first whether the mango (as a dessert) was ripe enough for my taste.

01/08/2026: We stopped in Châteauroux and ate at Chao Vietnam. It was delicious, with typical and succulent dishes. Antoine welcomed us very kindly. We highly recommend it! Excellent value for money.

21/07/2026: We went there during a trip to the Brenne Regional Natural Park. Having seen my review, and knowing the previous owners, they recommended it, but without knowing if the new owners were as good. So, we were a little disappointed. The meat on a spit, flambéed with whisky, was a nice presentation, but it didn't add much. I expected better. It was still enjoyable, but a bit pricey for what it was. On the other hand, we were served salad that hadn't even been washed. It was still full of dirt or sand… disgusting. When we pointed it out, they didn't even offer a replacement or compensation… just that the cook would be notified. 😐 For an aperitif, we tried some fried carp… it tasted like mud. The fish must have been too big or poorly washed. Really not good. Otherwise, the service was friendly and the setting was pleasant. I think the restaurant is capitalizing on the image of meat on a spit, which is appealing. But I think it would be a bit more creative. I'll let you form your own opinion.

17/07/2026: We had just finished a visit to the Château d'Azay-le-Ferron. The staff welcomed us late in the evening without any problem. The starters, main courses, and desserts were very good, with a special mention for the prawn stew.

01/08/2026: A warm welcome and a very friendly atmosphere, both on the terrace and inside. Regarding the food, it's a shame that the two fish dishes were served barely lukewarm. The duck was excellent. The dessert could have been a bit more creative.

28/07/2026: At 9:00 PM on Tuesday, the parking lot was almost full, with just a couple of spaces left. A perfect example of what a French roadside restaurant should be! A warm and homey atmosphere, smiling and fast waitresses, friendly bartenders! I especially want to commend the chefs for their delicious dishes and beautiful presentation—I kissed their hands! A young man who speaks Ukrainian works in the kitchen.

09/07/2026: Excellent roadside rest stop, the food is very good, the atmosphere is warm, private parking is available and the establishment has showers, toilets, all the necessary comforts, I recommend it, don't hesitate to pay it a visit.

20/07/2026: "Au Bon Vivre" truly lives up to its name: after 15 years of searching the area for a place to have a drink or lunch, I finally found this place, which feels like a miracle. The staff is friendly, honest, and knowledgeable about the origin of their products; among other things, they cultivate their own vegetable garden. The restaurant is beautifully situated at the top of Parnac, overlooking the church square, so it's quiet and shaded thanks to the pavilion on the terrace. The prices are also very reasonable, nostalgically reminiscent of the prices from 20 years ago. I could go on raving about it, but I think everyone will have understood that this place is a must-visit. Please note that the overall rating is lower due to negative reviews from the previous owners (about two years ago).
