L’Auberge Du Pas de Vent sur Pouillon

13/09/2026: We made a last-minute reservation at 9:00 AM for lunch... and yes, someone actually answered, which was a huge plus! The menu is extremely varied, with some lovely local specialties. The setting is truly magnificent, right on the lake, perfect for a relaxing time. The biggest area for improvement is the service. Trying to accommodate a large number of customers unfortunately takes its toll on the wait times: we arrived at 12:00 PM, received a soft drink at 12:30 PM, our starter at 1:30 PM, our main course at 2:30 PM, and dessert at 3:15 PM. It's really quite a long wait. On the other hand, the meal offers good value for money (€€), which partially compensates for the wait. Another small positive point: the bill was brought immediately after we asked for it, without another hour's wait. Despite the somewhat slow service, it won't stop us from going back. Next time, we'll plan a nice afternoon tea with the restaurant instead!

28/08/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the food truly lived up to our expectations. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat marred by the attitude of one of the waiters. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere of a bar with friends is not the same as that of a restaurant: customers come primarily to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing time and appreciate warm, yet professional, service. Calling customers "Dad" or "Mom," jokingly saying "I'll sit with you," and being overly familiar might be charming to some, but it can quickly become tiresome and inappropriate. This young waiter, whom we'll call "D," certainly needs proper training on professional conduct and maintaining appropriate boundaries with customers. Being pleasant and friendly is a virtue, but knowing one's place and respecting the comfort of other customers is equally important. It's a shame, because without this attitude, our experience would have been truly delightful.
