It's better since the change of ownership, but I'm still disappointed with the portion sizes in the sandwiches. Last time we went, we had to search for the sauce and the vegetables. Otherwise, the quality has improved; I think it's much better. I hadn't been going there in a while, so it's nice to have a chip shop nearby again.

After more than 15 years of loyalty to the Templeuve chip shop, it's hard to remain indifferent to this new chapter. We really wanted to support Zacharie's opening, and we went with enthusiasm… but also with a little pang of sadness. Let's start with the decor. The disappearance of the mural is a shock. Admittedly, it wasn't universally loved, but it was part of the soul of the place. It was a landmark, a piece of local heritage. Today, the atmosphere is darker, with black walls, and the mix with the yellow and blue tiles is a bit perplexing. If they were going to change things, we would have liked to be transported somewhere else… but for now, it's not quite working. Next, the most important thing: the food. Three pillars must remain untouched: the Chémikilfé, the Crève-la-Dalle, and the Chtikipu. These sandwiches are much more than just recipes; they're an institution. Entire generations have grown up with it. Seeing it disappear or be altered would be a real loss for Templeuve. We understand the desire for renewal and modernization. But be careful not to erase what makes the place unique. You can evolve without forgetting your roots. Finally, a word for Zacharie: much courage in this adventure. We sense the potential, and we want to believe in it. Put your heart and soul into it, make us dream like before, and give this chip shop back that little something extra that made all the difference. One important P.S.: bits of tomato bottom in the sandwiches… no. And lukewarm salad reheated in the microwave, even less so. On that point, you really need to go back to basics. We're giving it 4 stars to encourage it, because we know it can become a truly wonderful place. But there are still a few adjustments to be made to fully recapture the magic of the past…

I usually get a "crève la dalle" (a type of snack), but with the new owner, the "crève la dalle" is now half the size of the old one.

It's a place where you go to eat with friends. The owners are friendly.

I don't quite understand the concept. It says you close at 9:30 PM, but it's not even 9 PM and the chip shop is already closed. Can someone explain? Sincerely

Thank you for taking customer feedback into account ❤️ The customer service is a bit like Japanese service, with a greeting and goodbye as soon as the customer arrives or leaves, and always with a smile 😊. (Don't hesitate to speak loudly 🔊 when stating your order to get a smile 😉) The fries are always served very generously. We managed to eat well for two people for under €10, considering the portions, which is rare enough to be worth mentioning! I really like the new cardboard boxes, which are very practical for transport! No more plastic bags, and they keep the food warmer. There's something for everyone, young and old, with children's menus available.
