I came with my in-laws, who are from Alsace, looking for a place to eat well, have fun, listen to music, and above all, a place that represents our region, the southern spirit, and the atmosphere that comes with it. We were more than satisfied, because this place met and then exceeded our expectations in so many ways! As for the food, the platters are generous. Living in the center of Montpellier, and having tried many platters in the city and surrounding areas, these are by far the best, while also being more than reasonable in terms of value for money. The portions are incredibly generous, the products are fresh—and that's a real exception in this industry. As the daughter of a chef, I have no doubt about the high quality of the cuttlefish and prawns, for example. The cuttlefish is dense, firm, and melts in your mouth, and the prawns have firm yet crisp flesh. The meat was also very good, with a slight drawback being that it was overcooked – pink instead of rare – BUT the quality of the meat meant we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. And it didn't spoil anything. The charcuterie board was generous, the slices well-proportioned, far from being thin like elsewhere… Special mention goes to the pâté, which I believe to be Cabanes pâté, but this needs to be confirmed; even if it isn't, it was excellent nonetheless. There's no better way to appreciate good products than when they're cooked simply and without fuss. It's a gamble, and here it was a complete success. As for the service, we had booked late and were given a table inside, but the staff were accommodating and attentive, and moved the tables so we were closer to the outside. The service is quick, and the waitresses and waiters are attentive – notably by anticipating the rush and taking our order as soon as possible. The waitresses are pleasant, smiling, and readily available. I don't think I'm wrong in assuming they are happy and fulfilled in their jobs, with the environment and working conditions, and this is reflected in the customer experience. As for the atmosphere, the service staff, management, and security all contribute in their own way to making everyone feel comfortable. Thus, after a certain hour, the atmosphere becomes much more festive, as customers are free to dance, sing, chat, and laugh. The atmosphere is jovial and convivial, a welcome change from some other places where the ambiance is falsely stuffy and therefore stifling. I didn't have any particular expectations in this regard when I came to Le Patio, and I was very pleasantly surprised. As someone familiar with Montpellier's nightlife scene, I can say it was a real gem, and I can't wait to go back and confirm my opinion. I was able to introduce my in-laws to a lovely place that blends a southern spirit, quality local products, and a festive atmosphere that brings together different generations and backgrounds. A lovely terrace, efficient and friendly waiters and bartenders, delicious and generously portioned dishes (grilled fish and meat platters), a great atmosphere and music, with a good DJ. A wonderful evening!
