Le Basilic sur Saint-Denis

Because, another metro problem on line 13, and while waiting for the service to resume, we waited while having a drink at the end of the day, on the terrace, in front of the Basilica. Great kindness from the waiter and a big plus for the homemade chips.

Notre venue était impromptue avec 3 groupes de 9 personnes, l'accueil a été chaleureux et le personnel très accommodant. Nous avons principalement commandé des couscous, et j'ai personnellement choisi celui aux merguez. Les plats étaient bons et copieux, avec 3 merguez par portion. Cependant, j'aurais apprécié davantage de légumes et de pois chiches, même à ce prix raisonnable (17€ de moyenne). Les desserts étaient bons mais un peu petits pour le prix (8-9€). En résumé, une expérience agréable avec un bon service, bien que quelques ajustements sur les portions seraient bénéfiques.

Our visit was impromptu with 3 groups of 9 people, the welcome was warm and the staff very accommodating. We mainly ordered couscous, and I personally chose the merguez one. The dishes were good and plentiful, with 3 merguez per portion. However, I would have appreciated more vegetables and chickpeas, even at this reasonable price (17€ on average). The desserts were good but a little small for the price (8-9€). In summary, a pleasant experience with good service, although some adjustments to the portions would be beneficial.

Stop, at random, to eat before going to visit the Saint Denis basilica.... AND what a surprise!! A divine, generous and tasty couscous..... We even left with takeaway portions so that we could enjoy ourselves again when we got home.

Stopped in after visiting the basilica and emerging into unexpected rain. This place is directly opposite. It’s very traditionally French and I mean that entirely as a compliment. The menu is presented to you on a little blackboard which is left on the table for you to look at. They do a 2 course prix fixe menu for €16 which is good value and cheaper than you could find in central Paris. I had a beef dish followed by a delicious chocolate dessert. Really good food, traditionally cooked and good quality, and good service too. I would unhesitatingly recommend it. The location is obviously perfect.

Very nice surprise we stopped because of the rain and the charming young woman welcomed us with a big smile so we ate on the advice of the waitress very good food and a lovely view of the Saint Denis basil. I strongly recommend... Thanks to her for her professionalism and good humor.....

Friendly staff, food was very tasty and plenty. Price/performance top.
