Le Bateau d'Emile sur La Rochelle

A bistro-style restaurant. We went without a reservation for a simple lunch, but after the midday service. A very good value for money restaurant. We started with a tartine of apple compote, gratinéed goat cheese, and a green salad. The fish was perfectly cooked in a sauce with several side options, including fresh pasta or dauphinoise potatoes. For dessert, we had homemade panna cotta with strawberry or chocolate coulis and rice pudding. (Charcuterie and meat were also available). The Merlot was perfectly respectable, but there was a selection of other wines if you wanted to treat yourself. The service was always friendly and cheerful, even though they were very busy. This restaurant has two rooms, and it was full on a Tuesday, so that says it all! 😁 The room was decorated with a theme. The coffee was rather average, but the 5-star rating is well-deserved because the value for money is excellent. The restrooms were spotless, even at the end of service. Thank you to the entire team.
