Finally, a restaurant where you leave thinking, "Yes, here, the price is truly justified by what's on your plate." In a time when restaurants have become very expensive, especially in Provence, sometimes for disappointing quality, it's a real pleasure to discover a place like this. Here, everything is homemade and truly cooked. From the aperitif onwards, we were offered amuse-bouches prepared on-site, followed by an amuse-bouche before the starter. The dishes are carefully prepared, beautifully presented, but without being over the top: refined cuisine, full of flavor, and above all, perfectly balanced. The wine list is also quite reasonable, and the price-to-quality ratio is truly excellent. The restaurant is run by Lorenzo and Penelope, a young couple who work together: he's in the kitchen, she's in the dining room. The welcome is warm, friendly, and attentive—exactly as it should be. And being able to chat with Lorenzo for a few minutes at the end of service allows you to discover people passionate about their work, which is evident in the food. The setting, in the heart of the countryside and surrounded by nature, is also very pleasant. This was our second visit, three years after our first, and we found the same quality and the same enjoyment. A genuine establishment, authentic cuisine, and a passionate team: it's truly delightful, and rare enough these days to deserve to be highlighted.

Lorenzo's cuisine is generous, refined, and full of personality, created by a passionate chef who knows his craft perfectly and brings genuine expertise to every dish. Behind each dish, you can taste the pursuit of flavor, the quality of the ingredients, and above all, the desire to please. The combinations are original, the cooking is masterful, and the plates are as delicious as they are beautifully presented. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know how to recognize the work, technique, and dedication that go into cuisine of this caliber. And here, they are certainly evident. Penelope, who works in the dining room, also contributes greatly to the quality of the experience. She welcomes guests with dedication, attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism. Her warm presence and attentive service make the experience even more enjoyable. Le Bistrot de Lagarde truly deserves to be discovered for what it is: chef-driven cuisine that is sincere, creative, and generous, with a genuine identity, accompanied by attentive and friendly service. A family lunch in Lagarde d'Apt. It's worth the climb (you have to go up there) but it's a pure delight from start to finish. Calm, refined, and discreet. Penelope welcoming and serving, Lorenzo in the kitchen... Pure bliss! I recommend it 200%.

We went back to this restaurant today, just like last year, to conclude our holiday in Provence. It was another real highlight of our trip. There's good food everywhere here, but this place is something truly special. The service – I think it's the owner – and the completely tranquil atmosphere speak for themselves. Great food, service and a beautiful location

Le Bistro de Lagarde is one of those rare places that’s worth the drive all by itself. Nestled in the peaceful hills above Sault at around 1,000 metres, surrounded by beautiful lavender fields, it feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. We enjoyed lunch on the lovely shaded terrace. Even though it was 28°C, the combination of shade and a gentle mountain breeze made it incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, Penelope, the owner, made us feel genuinely welcome. The service throughout was attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced, allowing us to relax and savour the experience. The food was exceptional. Every dish was creative, colourful, and beautifully presented, showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients with plenty of imagination. The wine selection complemented the menu perfectly. If you’re looking for outstanding food in a spectacular, tranquil setting, Le Bistro de Lagarde is absolutely worth seeking out. We celebrated my birthday there, and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. Highly recommended!
