25/06/2026: Having plenty of time between trains, I was able to spend a good part of the day in this brasserie where the waiters were understanding and welcoming.
I started with a chocolate frappé, which was served, at my request, without whipped cream.
Then, at lunchtime, I chose octopus "seared Basque-style," that is, with peppers, onions, potatoes, capers, and sundried tomatoes.
Finally, in the afternoon, I ordered a chocolate crepe with vanilla ice cream (again, without whipped cream, at my request).
Admittedly, the total bill was high: €51 (the octopus alone cost €33).
But the overall impression was positive.
It would have been preferable, however, to use a little less oil to accompany the octopus (which, incidentally, was a tad too firm). But the dish was very flavorful, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The crepe, however, could have been fluffier.
The iced chocolate, finally, was perfect.
In short, a very pleasant day in the cool air, which is especially welcome on a day when the temperature is over 40 degrees Celsius!
(The dining room is noisy during peak hours, but that's obviously not the fault of the staff, who are very brave to work in these conditions…)
23/06/2026: A very friendly and kind waiter, and well-prepared food!
