Le château de st Geniès sur Saint-Genies

A magnificent restaurant nestled within the castle walls, run by a family team. Homemade and refined cuisine! Bravo!

What can I say? Simply EXCEPTIONAL!!! I'm an epicurean at heart, but this is on another level. The small village of Saint-Genies is renowned for its market. From 2017 to 2020 and then again in 2026, it was always just as authentic for its local produce. But then there's the Café du Château! An exceptional setting, a listed heritage site, a very warm welcome, and the menu: only exceptional products, completely unspoiled by industry! Pure bliss! And the owners of the place, which dates back to the 12th century (the building, not the owners 😜), welcome us as it should be. They have managed to make this place, for me, an absolute must-visit, thanks to their taste (for food and for the setting), their respect for history, and their humility!!! I could have given it 10/5 without any regrets... I've already visited quite a few establishments across France, but this is number ONE!!!!

A lovely family restaurant! We had a wonderful meal and it's perfect for families with children (toys available, changing table in the restrooms). The owners are very welcoming; we highly recommend it.

A fantastic discovery!! Even though I'm gluten intolerant, I ate just like everyone else. Tender beef, a perfectly balanced gorgonzola sauce, and homemade mashed potatoes like you rarely find anymore. A strawberry and vanilla pavlova—yum! Fresh products cooked on-site! And all served with a smile, a friendly and positive atmosphere, and helpful advice!! We'll be back soon. The village market on Sunday mornings is also very interesting!! They're open from Wednesday to Sunday, unless I'm mistaken. You can even buy Italian products there!! Have a great day 🙂

A truly unique café, very well designed and incredibly stylish. The food is top-notch, with incredibly decadent desserts. Antoine and Justine are very welcoming; their hospitality immediately sets the tone for the place. A must-try restaurant during your holidays in the area!

A beautiful spot in a charming village. The menu is typical of an Italian restaurant, but there's no pizza. The pasta dishes, charcuterie, and meat dishes are all excellent. The service is impeccable, and since the walls are part of a local historical monument, you feel like you're in the guardroom of a castle. A truly memorable experience.
