Overall, a good meal, but the €52 set menu was a bit pricey in my opinion. The bottle of rosé could have been nice, but it wasn't chilled at all, and we had to ask for an ice bucket, which I think should be standard! €38 is still a lot...
In short, a bit disappointed.
The brasserie-style decor is very dated and there's no air conditioning.
The bill came to €140 for two.

A truly excellent experience. The service is impeccable: the entire team is welcoming, smiling, attentive, and caring without being intrusive. You really feel at ease.
The dishes are beautifully presented and prepared with high-quality ingredients.
I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. I will gladly return to explore the rest of the menu.

Rambouillet is a must-visit and historic destination for French gastronomy. An address to remember. Impeccable service and an incredible chef. Kudos for the very creative presentation of the dishes.

We had a pleasant dinner at this restaurant with its tasteful decor and welcoming staff. The food was very good. The only downside was that the dishes on offer were very wintry, whereas it was late May; we would have appreciated lighter options more in keeping with the season.

I had fond memories of Le Cheval Rouge... but that was before... warm welcome, old-fashioned dining room, appetizing €52 menu, lovely waitress, but the food itself was disappointing: two tiny slices of salmon, edible beef, lots of fat, and a burnt tart underneath... a bill of €200, really expensive for what it was, we were disappointed, it wasn't good quality at all!
