Le Comptoir du Calendal sur Arles

We sat down on the terrace, but after 10 minutes no one had come to take our order. So we went to the counter and were told someone would be there to take our order, but we waited some more. The coffee was quite good, and the ice cream was good but rather sweet. When we went to pay, we walked right into an argument between the staff and the owner; they barely acknowledged us when we asked for payment. And finding the restrooms was a real hassle. The facilities are poorly marked; it's unclear which ones are for the hotel and which are for the café.

Thank you to all the staff for the warm welcome and kindness, especially Laura and Manon. The backyard is enchanting and very pleasant, and the food is delicious.

Beautiful courtyard to sit in and delicious sandwiches and pizza. The staff is very friendly! Additionally, you are served nice table water.

I had a very lovely afternoon. I had the grilled octopus which was delicious. The waitress with dark hair was incredibly friendly. I didn’t catch her name but she was lovely and bubbly. I was nervous because my French is bad and I had a bad experience in a restaurant the day before so she made me feel very welcome. Merci.

This shaded garden in the historic district is a haven of peace. We were welcomed and served with exceptional kindness by Laura, a native of Arles who speaks of her city with love and authenticity. How beautiful France is!

Not suitable for those like us who wanted to make do with a sandwich and a drink. I don't know about the quality of the other dishes, but the sandwiches left a lot to be desired. Nice atmosphere, rather aloof service.

Review from a small group of 8 people. We found the setting very pleasant, the staff cheerful and very friendly, and the meals we ordered completely satisfied us. We highly recommend it!

Nice place right next to the ancient arena. We had coffee and tea in the morning and decided to come back for lunch as we saw they had a quiet garden out the back, one of the trees there is 500 years old. We had the plate of the day which was very tasty and good value. Service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. Lots of staff were serving.

The counter service is reasonably priced. Just steps from the arena and opposite the old theater. Very well located in the city center. Fun: a few swing seats for indoor dining. Terrace. Fast service despite the crowds. I recommend it. Holiday vouchers accepted.
