Le Comptoir du Calendal sur Arles

Not suitable for those like us who wanted to make do with a sandwich and a drink. I don't know about the quality of the other dishes, but the sandwiches left a lot to be desired. Nice atmosphere, rather aloof service.

Review from a small group of 8 people. We found the setting very pleasant, the staff cheerful and very friendly, and the meals we ordered completely satisfied us. We highly recommend it!

Nice place right next to the ancient arena. We had coffee and tea in the morning and decided to come back for lunch as we saw they had a quiet garden out the back, one of the trees there is 500 years old. We had the plate of the day which was very tasty and good value. Service was quick and the waitress was very friendly. Lots of staff were serving.

The counter service is reasonably priced. Just steps from the arena and opposite the old theater. Very well located in the city center. Fun: a few swing seats for indoor dining. Terrace. Fast service despite the crowds. I recommend it. Holiday vouchers accepted.

Overall, the experience was pleasant, but two things marred it. First, the Monaco we were served wasn't actually Monaco (the proportions or ingredients need to be reviewed). Even more surprising: when it came time to pay in cash, the cashier asked us to calculate and count our bill ourselves. This is the first time we've ever been asked to handle the payment ourselves instead of the staff. A little more professionalism at the end would have been appreciated.
