Le Comptoir du Malt sur Val-De-Reuil

Visited this evening for the first time. Nice place, excellent service provided by Lisa, a smiling and very pleasant young woman. I highly recommend it.

We arrived in much larger numbers than expected. The staff were very responsive 👍, the service was quick, and the food was excellent.

My partner and I came for a weekend in the area and were very disappointed. Not by the food, but by the service we received. As soon as we arrived, we felt condescending to a waitress (I think her name was Sandy). She kept asking if we had chosen our meal, which we hadn't, and when my partner told her he had chosen his main course but not his drink, she grabbed the drinks menu (which was right in front of him since he had already looked at it) and said, in a very haughty manner, "Well, here's the drinks menu." Yes, thank you, Sandy, we know, it was right in front of us and we had opened it ourselves... She remained polite, but her tone made it clear that we were bothering her. The food itself was okay, like what you'd expect from a typical chain restaurant, but nothing special. The next day, of course, we made sure not to come back, given how disappointed we were with the service. The taste of the food is one thing, the service is another. However, it's worth noting that the food arrived quickly :)

So, a bit disappointed, this is a restaurant we usually go to. The waitress served us an aperitif with a platter. As soon as the platter was finished, she sent us the main courses, even though our glasses were more than half empty. So, no need for wine with the meal. And the pasta dish for my teenager was a bit small; I thought it was the portion from the children's menu. Dessert, a brioche French toast-style dish, was extremely dry. We were disappointed.
