Le Cottage sur Vaux-Sur-Mer

A wonderful discovery. Refined yet unpretentious cuisine, a beautiful dining room, friendly service – a truly delightful experience for two. We will gladly return.

We regularly visit le Cottage on our travels in France. It is a top restaurant, the service is precise and the staff very knowledgeable about each dish. The menus are very well crafted with excellent textures and flavours. Unusually I went vegetarian this time. The ripe tomatoes deserved to star in the starter whilst the Moroccan tagine of egg plant, nuts, fruit and veg was one of the best. The cheesecake rounded off a delightful meal. Why hasn’t Doug and his team been recognised by Michelin? They deserve it.

Very pleasant evening, exceptional food and service

I highly recommend this restaurant in Vaux-sur-Mer, which is, without a doubt, one of the best in the area, and offers excellent value for money. The cuisine is refined. On the menu that evening: A flavorful heirloom tomato salad, accompanied by tomato sorbet and pesto. A veal rump served with Madeira sauce, vegetables (caramelized cauliflower purée and turnip pieces), and arancini (crispy on the outside and meltingly soft on the inside). We even ordered an extra plate to share, just because we were so greedy! The portions are generous. The service is efficient and discreet, and both the dining room and the terrace are very charming. I have nothing more to add, except that you absolutely must go and try this restaurant!
