Lovely food, good prices, and a relaxing garden setting. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a slight language barrier at times, but that was more on me. Highly recommend stopping here for lunch if you’re visiting the Somme battlefields.
While visiting the Newfoundland Memorial at Beaumont-Hamel, we were looking for a place to have lunch nearby. This was our choice, and it was an excellent one. Lindsay was very kind and translated the menu into English for us. While we could have used Google Translate, the personal touch was lovely and much appreciated.
My wife and I both had the burgers, which were tender, juicy, and so large that we couldn't finish the whole meal. My son had the steak, which was also very good. Even though we were full, we made room for dessert, and it was just as delicious.
We also met a very interesting and kind Australian couple who live there for part of the year. This also added to our enjoyable meal.
It's an excellent place with beautiful views. If we lived here, we would return again and again.
As an aside, when we were leaving the museum parking lot, I realized I had left my sling bag behind. We started to turn around, and there on the road was Lindsay with my bag. He truly went above and beyond.
