Le Goeland sur Le Palais

By chance we ended up at this place and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, cosy environment (cosy old pub style) and friendly staff. And the food was excellent, so good we gobbled it up and didn’t take any pictures! Tastiest and most authentic food I have had on Belle-Ile.

The quality of a restaurant run by a master chef is unmistakable. We savored a seafood fricassee, sweetbreads, a rare ribeye steak cooked over an open fire, and a shared floating island dessert. Only the freshest ingredients were used, and the staff was incredibly friendly, even offering a wine tasting before we ordered. We're already back in two days to enjoy freshly caught sea bass baked in a salt crust. We re-seated at the same table with a window overlooking the harbor entrance, although the terrace would have been perfectly adequate. We highly recommend this restaurant, which is undoubtedly one of the best in Palais, offering excellent value for money. Please share your experience to help support these authentic establishments.

An excellent spot on Belle-Île! A very warm welcome and a great atmosphere among the staff. The cocktails (special mention for the piña colada!) and the food were delicious, especially the incredibly fresh bluefin tuna. The dessert was also very good. A fantastic time with friends during our vacation, I highly recommend it!

It's a pink house on the harbor. We managed to get a table, but then the wait was a bit long due to the crowds. The food was good, but the sardines were a little small for my taste. The service was pleasant.

Excellent restaurant in a superb location. We had tuna as a starter and main course, both delicious, and the desserts were fantastic! Especially the beautiful floating island – absolutely enormous! The manager and servers were very friendly; we'll definitely be back.

Excellent, friendly service. Very good dishes, the fish of the day (bluefin tuna) cooked over a wood fire was magical, as was the tataki.
