We had booked dinner very early and hadn't realized that the kitchen didn't open until 7:00 pm. However, upon arrival, the server immediately informed us that there was nothing available yet. Our reservation wasn't even looked at, and the brusque manner of speaking made us feel like we'd been transported back in time. Thanks for nothing!

Hello, despite the lack of servers yesterday (there were 5 including the owners), the restaurant was packed. I even told the waitress they needed to hire more staff, and she said she wouldn't comment on that. But the servers were very professional. I wish them all the best and please think of your staff.
Consider hiring extra staff.

We had the confit duck leg and champagne mussels that was phenomenal. The waiter who served us was attentive and cheerful. We came back to this restuarsnt twice during reims.

Red and gold galore: nostalgics will rave about this bistro. The atmosphere is definitely more atmospheric and inviting than in the chain restaurants and bars in the neighborhood.
The food doesn't quite live up to the ambiance (at least ours did), but the friendly and competent service absolutely hits the spot.

Without a doubt the best food we ate whilst in Reims: in fact, we came back for a second time. Moules one night, and then the confit duck leg the second time. Both absolutely mind blowing.
Iles Flottante were... incredible. Hubby has the Tarte Tatin and is now unsure as to whether he can ever have anything "caramel" again, as it was so good!
Exceptionally friendly service, and so patient to allow me to try out truly rusty school-girl French!

Decent welcome, complicated service (it was a Saturday night...), decent dishes and desserts. Is it worth the 33 euros per person (dish at 20 euros, dessert at 8, drink at 5)? Not sure. A good example to illustrate my point is undoubtedly the extra whipped cream at 3.50 €: at this price, we expect an exceptional homemade cream, I won't hide from you that I had the impression of a supermarket mousse. That's the whole problem with the Grand Café in my opinion: high prices for average quality.
