Le Haut Landais sur Moustey

We stumbled upon this place on our way from Bordeaux to the Pyrenees; it's ideally located on this main route. We were pleasantly surprised to find a rib of beef in this restaurant, in a region surrounded by cornfields and duck farms. What can I say? It was pure bliss! We thoroughly enjoyed it. The meat was aged and of excellent quality, and the cooking was perfectly executed (hats off to the kitchen team!). And let's not forget the generous, homemade desserts (especially the profiteroles 😋). The welcome was excellent, the service impeccable, all in a typical Landes setting! Great food, a historic setting, and a wide selection of Landes digestifs (several vintages are available ☺️). I will gladly return to this unique, local restaurant with owners who clearly love their work and service 🙏

We made a quick stop and were treated with exceptional care. The duck breasts with the extra liver were delicious. It's a shame your restaurant is 1000 km from home.

I was having a good time and eating well, so I complimented the waiter when it came time to pay. I simply mentioned that I found the pan-seared foie gras a bit small for €7. In response, the waiter suggested I eat at a motorway service station next time… It's a shame, because a comment about the portion size could have simply been taken as customer feedback. The experience was very good until this exchange, which unfortunately left a bad impression.

A wonderful discovery! I had the duck leg and it was absolutely delicious: very flavorful, not too fatty, perfectly seasoned, and not too salty. You can really tell the dishes are homemade, prepared fresh to order, with high-quality ingredients, and it truly makes all the difference! The welcome was also very warm: the owner was lovely; he even set out a small plate of coffee to keep the wasps away from the table. A simple, authentic, family-run restaurant with excellent ingredients and generous portions. I will definitely be back!

They offer both regional and more classic dishes. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly, and the terrace is lovely when the weather is nice. The servers are friendly, and I had a wonderful time there.

Stéphane and his team welcomed us as if we'd been there forever. The daily menu was a real treat, with its home-style cooking. We'll be back. Thank you.
